I have a TC 45D with 200 hours. Since new, the tach fails to operate about 10% of the time. The PTO speed indicator light has never worked. Anyone had similar problems. I know it's under warranty, but just curious if a simple fix to avoid haul in.

Thanks,Mark

Mark, I don't know if the instrument gages on a New Holland are individually replaceable or not. On my JD 5310 when the hour meter display went dead I found out that the dash gages are not individually serviceable. The entire instrument panel (tac., hour meter, pto disp, water temp., fuel gage etc.), must to be replaced as a unit.
So, if it is still under warranty you should notify your dealer ASAP. I did not have to bring the tractor in, the serviceman came to my house and replaced it on site.
hope this helps, Walt ....

If there's room before warranty expiration, I'd treat it as a warranty problem but save it until the tractor was going to the dealer for other work as well. It probably would be good to advise the dealer of the problem. The description might be an early symptom of a failure that could cause damage. If so, it's hard to tell the outcome of a warranty claim for damage that resulted from continuing to use a part known to be faulty. It could be thought of as close enough to a person hearing a rod knocking for several months and then wanting a new block because the old one has a rod through it.

Mind you, I don't think this sort of situation is at all likely. I just have this attitude that my dealer is interested in what's going on with me and my tractor and so I tell him. If I say nothing then I won't hear the helpful suggestions he usually comes up with. There is a recent discussion in the archives about an intermitted tach.
